Louis Garrel learned manufacturing techniques in a violin workshop for 19 years, starting in 1901. Later, in 1921, he established the string instrument workshop <Ballon de Paris> with his brothers to research violin making and acoustics.

Louis Garrel succeeded in restoring distorted sound to normal using 'Vicuña wool' in 1920. In 1945, he was officially recognized for his technique and recorded as a figure who made a significant mark in string instrument manufacturing.

Designer Raphaël Garrel

(1957~ )

Raphaël Garrel, the fourth generation of the Garrel family, majored in industrial design and has created speakers incorporating the family's techniques together with his brother Julian Garrel, a tuner who inherited the technical skills.

This is the beginning of the <Ballon de Paris> speakers.
